£9.50
Dichromena colorata grows to a height of 30-60 cm (12-24 inches), forming a clump of slender, upright, green stems and narrow, linear leaves. The plant's most striking feature is its star-like inflorescence, consisting of several bright white bracts radiating around a cluster of tiny greenish flowers. These bracts give the appearance of delicate white stars floating above the foliage, creating an ethereal effect in the landscape.
Flowering occurs from spring to autumn (May to October), with the starry blooms adding charm and elegance throughout the growing season.
- ideal for planting in shallow water up to 10 cm (4 inches) deep, making it perfect for pond margins, wet meadows, and bog gardens. The plant performs well in a variety of soil types, including loam, clay, and sandy soils, provided they retain moisture. Slightly acidic to neutral pH is preferred.
